ITINERARIES

On the home trails with BERTH

Average duration: approximately 3 hours and 30 minutes | Drop: approximately 50 m

Dotted with hamlets, Borgosesia is the main urban center of Valsesia, in which the legacy of a glorious industrial past linked to the production of textiles, coexists with its commercial vocation for retail sales. The town is surrounded by green hills offering ideal walks with scenic views of the Sesia river and the entire Lower Valley.

Starting directly from the C. Conti Museum and going up towards the old hospital, you will cross the trail leading to the hamlets of Cartiglia, Vanzone, Caneto, Rozzo and Caggi; a gentle loop, without any major drops, allowing you to follow the path of Berth, a merchant bear looking for new commercial outlets, but also in search of his own personal growth.

Go through all the stages and help Berth in his training journey, traveling through woods, splendid meadows and clearings against the background of the characteristic panettone-shaped mountain of Borgosesia: Monte Fenera!

If you are strong and brave enough, you could walk a little bit more and climb the path leading to the ruins of Vanzone medieval castle. Once back to the starting point, you can observe its ancient remains in the museum. The view as far as the eye can see over the surrounding hills is worth the trip and will repay you for the effort!

Happy… adventure!
